Assist in the propagation of TMC news content and impact across multiple online platforms:

  • Cross-post daily news blogs across a variety of news outlets while ensuring that grammar, spelling and overall presentation is excellent and timely.

Includes working with HTML and Rich Text formats as well as embedded media.

  • Analyze clickthrough rates of TMC content through RSS feeds and other content in order to implement and organize a system for tracking and recording TMC’s content and impact with users
  • Conceive and develop short and long-term marketing and engagement strategies to interact with users based on this analysis.
  • Research new technologies and media services that support and assist independent media operations—Newsladder, Ellerdale, Yahoo Pipes.
  • Select and post news content from TMC’s partner websites on Delicious and Newsladder in order to promote exposure and for bloggers to select and use in news content.

Peer Mentor—UIC Campus Housing

August 2008—Present

Collaborate with first year students and their transition to college life while living in residence halls:

  • Ensures that assigned communities, ranging from 50 to 60 residents, are thriving social environments.
  • Successfully mediates interpersonal conflicts and problems between roommates and floormates.
  • Serve as a resource for residents: Answer questions, connect with on and off-campus resources and address other concerns as needed.
  • Plan, promote and execute academic and social programs and events to provide residents with information and enhance their experience within the residence halls.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned; compile bi-weekly reports, attend weekly staff meetings, making a monthly bulletin board with information for residents, door decorations and other activities.

Shift Supervisor—Starbucks Coffee Company

March 2006—March 2009

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations during scheduled shifts, including:

  • Managed teams of 2 to 7 employees ensuring quick and efficient staff management and personnel deployment while providing first-rate customer service.
  • Completed other administrative and operational tasks: cash handling, making other employees aware of corporate news and information and training of new team members.
